Prediction of Behavior Disorders Classification with the Index of Personality Characteristics and a Test of Social ReasoningJoseph A. Buckhalt is Associate Professor of School Psychology, Auburn University
Ron L. McGhee is School Psychologist, TLW Shared Services, Leesburg, Georgia. In an effort to find measures which will improve the diagnosis and classification of behavior disordered (BD) students, two measures were administered to a sample of BD and nonexceptional students, the Index of Personality Characteristics (IPC) and the Social Reasoning subtest of the British Ability Scales. The results indicated that the IPC is unidimensional and that the composite score (Personality Quotient) in combination with the Social Reasoning subtest predicted BD classification with a high degree of accuracy.
